Description

The Untied Technologies FA-05 program focused on a low cost, sub-sonic light fighter/attack craft for worldwide marketing and distribution. Due to its exceptional slow-flight characteristics, the Skyshark is very popular among precision flight teams and also sees widespread use as an advanced jet trainer.

A stock aircraft called FA-05 Skyshark. Built with 48 of the finest parts, its root part is airplaneTailB.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.12.5.

Flight Demo

A quick flight out to the Island Research Facility and back. Demonstrating landing gear with auto-flap deployment (G key), dropping the DT-100 fuel tank via normal staging (spacebar), transitioning from cruise to slow flight, and shortfield takeoff and landing ops.

Custom Livery

I have a few of these liveries done. I wanted a basic fighter jet gray and couldn’t help but add some shark teeth for this one. I do have the very simple mods for my paint jobs that I could make available. However, in the process of creating them, I also noticed that Squad has some bugs in their new Variant construct that causes certain things to break. In particular, parts that can display flags do not currently work with the new Variant module. So I may have to wait a bit for Squad to fix some bugs before I release anything. In the meantime, the workaround that I use involves duplicating the part as opposed to using its Variant property. It works fine, it just shows some extra parts in the SPH for each livery which feels a bit sloppy.
