Description

Tropolaunch III
Another air launched vehicle. It is coming with the Tropolaunch III mother-ship and a small lander destined to Moho.

The whole system is easy to handle and more than capable to realize its task without any problems. Moho being one of the most resources asking destination, if the lander can make it here, it should be able to land on many other bodies.

However, the best would be to perform a good departure at first. Tropolaunch III being overpowered, I would recommend to accelerate enough then to climb as quick as possible to a near stalling speed then to lower the nose at this time. Once the mother-ship is starting to fall back to Kerbin it should be the good time to hit the stage touch. Two small Separatron will lite at the same time than the launcher’s engines, ensuring a good separation and clearance to make sure it will not impact nor burn the mother-ship. Then, everything is simple as usual with a vertical launcher; just aim for a good positive angle during the first seconds then it will be possible to lower the nose to accelerate as much as possible. The rest is depending on the mission, of course.

This craft seemed far-fetched to me at the beginning, but it is giving a simple opportunity to go to Moho without the latest technologies unlocked, and for a whole price of a bit less than 23 000 Funds, which is not too bad.
