The Kolibri Mk. II is one of my oldest small shuttle-like craft, originally built as a rescue vehicle riding a huge solid rocket booster. I re-used my Universal Light Craft Launcher from the X-36 Arethuse to make it a full stock spacecraft now.
This craft is fun to fly but have nothing particular in term of capacities with just the cockpit to seat the castaway.
The best way to enjoy a flight with it is to start your turn around 70 m/s then softly put your Ap around 70-77 km and circularize here on a parking orbit. The Kolibri II then can reach its target on a 300x300 km orbit without any problems.
The re-entry can be… hem,
athletic. Don’t touch your controls too much, or enjoy a rodeo-like ride. This is due to the downwards wingtips (who can be crazy enough to made a spacecraft with the absolute opposite of a lifting body, hmm?). Once in the thicker levels of the athmosphere the commands become reactives and good again.
Too good and sensitive perhaps.
Update I : main landing gear has been revised and lowered for a better clearance.
A stock rocket called Sleg Kolibri Mk II. Built with 85 of the finest parts, its root part is mk2Cockpit.Standard.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.3.1.
