Description

Initially called Bop Express, the specialists found the interest of this probe so dull that they decided to rename it consequently.

Like the name is telling, it is a simple attempt to build a probe dedicated to Jool’s system, and inspired from the glorious New Horizons mission.
As usual, it is not really a pure copy of the real system:
- If the Hesperos launcher is mainly based on the Atlas V, it is also coming with a dual engines second stage; we still have to see it in real life.
- The probe is equipped with a Terrier engine and loaded with enough propellant to circularize around some bodies.

Also, just like the real flight was using five AJ-60s, the launcher is fitted with five Thumper to imitate it. However, it implies a slight imbalance of the center of thrust with the center of gravity of the system and is requiring some inputs to stay stable during the initial seconds of the climb. To help even more the thrust has been reduced, ensuring a better time burn at the same occasion.
Once freed of them the launcher is extremely easy to control and should perform its task without any problems.

The second stage then will be able to complete the circularization and a part of the transfer burn, then the probe will be able to perform everything on itself. However, it is still important to consider a good and economic transfer window.
