Description
This revolutionary aircraft has an unusual forward-swept wing design, allowing the wings to be mounted far back on the fuselage without making the craft excessively nose-heavy. It’s powered by four afterburning turbofans, two in the aft fuselage and two in wingtip pods, toggled between wet and dry modes via the staging mechanism.
Because of its long, low to the ground fuselage, it has an extra wheel on the underside of the tail. During takeoff rotation, the MA-11 first rears backward onto the main gear and the tailwheel, and only then lifts off.
To avoid loss of control, do not deploy the airbrakes with the landing gear up.
