Description

A stock rocket called Kerbal X4. Built with 78 of the finest parts, its root part is mk1-3pod.

The Kerbal X4 is a minimum-modification version of the stock Kerbal X, with only minor changes here and there:

• The X’s nose-mounted parachute has been replaced with a shielded docking port atop a Steadler RGU (the latter allowing for unkerballed operation), and radial parachutes have been placed on the sides of the command module to take over the job of soft-landing said module.
• A large-form Steadler RGU has been added to the top of the upper stage, allowing it to be controlled and deorbited separately from the command module.
  • To accommodate the increased height of the upper stage, the ladder configuration leading to the upper stage’s Kelus extendable ladder has been modified.
• The upper two X200-32 fuel tanks of the core stage have been replaced with a single Jumbo-64 tank, which has the same fuel capacity and weight as the pair of X200-32s, but is a single part rather than two (slightly increasing the X4’s render speed, framerate, and structural rigidity) and (in career mode) costs slightly less than two X200-32s.
• As a cosmetic change, the old-model Mainsail used on the X’s core stage has been swapped out for the spiffy new version.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.10.1.
