Description

A small twin-engine jet trainer, meant as an easy-to-fly first step for pilots just getting started on aircraft with wing-mounted engines. It does not have any scientific instrumentation installed, in order to not distract the student pilots.

With just two small Juno turbojets and a heavy fuel load, it’s no hotrod, but the small, lower-power engines make it easier for an inexperienced trainee to maintain control if one engine flames out or has to be shut down for some reason, and the large quantity of fuel it carries gives it superb endurance.

Has a strong tendency to pitch up with increasing speed, due to its large positive decalage (the difference in angle of incidence between the main wing and the horizontal tail), wanting to maintain a speed of about 60 m/s at low altitudes (somewhat greater as you go higher). This makes it prone to floating down the runway if you’re even slightly fast when you come in to land; fortunately, its relatively light weight and powerful main-gear brakes mean that, once it does touch down, it needs very little runway to stop.

A stock aircraft called Housefly. Built with 34 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark1Cockpit.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.10.1.
