This Franken-rocket contraption consists of the upper stage and spacecraft from the Goliath II, mated to the Koyuz booster.

As such, first- and second-stage flight, up to and including orbital insertion and the first bit of manoeuvring in orbit, is much the same as for the Koyuz 1, while later orbital manoeuvring, rendezvous, docking, reentry, and landing are much the same as for the stock Goliath II (although the Goliath will have its propellant tanks considerably fuller than it would were it launched on a Goliath II rocket, as the Koyuz launcher is considerably more capable than the Goliath II’s first stage, being capable of getting the Goliath spacecraft and upper stage all the way to orbit on its own with propellant to spare).

One major exception concerns launch-abort procedures; the Goliath spacecraft used on the Goyuz has no launch escape system (in sharp contrast to the Koyuz spacecraft’s complex two-stage system, designed to provide abort options for every stage of ascent), so a launch abort basically entails shutting down the Koyuz core and booster stages, decoupling the Goliath spacecraft and upper stage from the Koyuz core (jettisoning the interstage fairing in the process), and activating the Goliath upper stage’s Cheetah engine to thrust away from the rocket and hope to get far enough away to safely parachute down.

A stock rocket called Goyuz I. Built with 107 of the finest parts, its root part is Mk2Pod.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.9.0.
