Description
This craft has a dummy payload with a docking port attached, perfect to learn the fine art of docking two craft together without putting two sets of astronauts at risk. It’s based on the stock Beta Centaurus vehicle that comes with Making History, but I deviated from the Beta Centaurus’s design in an attempt to be as faithful to the real-life Atlas-Agena GATV as possible.
Unlike the Beta Centaurus, which uses a lower stage similar to that of the Making-History-stock Goliath II HLV (the KSP equivalent of the Titan II GLV), including the same dual-bore Bobcat engine that powers the Goliath II’s first stage, the Globus-Kergena uses the stage-and-a-half Globus launcher (my recreation of the early-generation Atlas), powered by twin Reliant booster engines (jettisoned partway through ascent) and a central Swivel sustainer.
The upper stage and dummy-payload-cum-docking-apparatus are retained more-or-less-unchanged from the Beta Centaurus.
A stock rocket called Globus-Kergena. Built with 88 of the finest parts, its root part is probeCoreOcto2.v2.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.9.0.
