Description
When you take the Garnet, basically a Blackwing LRB with a couple upper stages on top, and strap two more Blackwings to the sides of it…
The four Skippers of the core stage’s RE-170 engine cluster are limited to 50% thrust during first-stage flight (to conserve the core’s fuel for later), and their gimbals are locked in place (to keep them from accidentally roasting the adjacent booster engines). A second or two before the side boosters run dry, press 8 to unlock the core’s engine gimbals and start the process of throttling the core engines up to full thrust (the engines are controlled by a KAL-1000 controller at the top of the core stage, which smoothly throttles them up from 50% to 100% thrust over the course of three seconds).
