Description
A stock rocket called Fox 1. Built with 45 of the finest parts, its root part is mk1-3pod.
Heavily modelled after a craft seen in one of the KSP loading screens about to dock to (or possibly having just undocked from) a very Skylab-esque space station; I’ve done my level best to recreate that craft, with the X200-8 fuel tank, the four landing legs and two pairs of Twitch engines peeking around the edge of the heatshield, the eight minified monopropellant tanks mounted in pairs alongside the landing-leg attachments, the pair of Illuminator Mk2 floodlights shining forward to provide visibility when docking, the large Steadler RGU mounted under the command capsule…
Lifted atop a first stage consisting of a Skipper engine, an orange-insulated X200-32 fuel tank, and a decoupler to separate the rocket into twain, it can get comfortably into orbit if launched east, or mostly east, from KSC or Dessert (although with fairly small propellant margins, as the Twitches have to burn almost all of the second-stage bipropellant supply to get the vehicle up to speed). It can also reach a near-polar (87°-or-so-inclination) orbit from Woomerang, but this is right at the edge of its capabilities, requiring near-perfect trajectory and burn management and consuming the vehicle’s entire bipropellant supply as well as the vast majority of its monopropellant to get it up to orbital speed before falling back into the atmosphere; it took me several tries to get into the aforementioned orbit from Woomerang, and it’s possible that it might not even be possible to get into a polar or near-polar orbit from KSC (or, possibly, even Dessert), due to the greater initial amount of east imparted by Kerbin’s rotation to a vehicle launched from there.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.10.0.

The upper album shows a Fox 1 launch from KSC into an equatorial orbit, as well as a Fox 1 rendezvousing with a Kerbal X2 space-station core; the lower album shows a Fox 1 deorbiting, reentering, and landing from a polar orbit of Kerbin.
