Description
The Drake 2 uses the tried-and-true SSTO format of a pair of Whiplash turboramjets for takeoff and climb, plus a Dart aerospike rocket for the final push to orbit. It has a probe core mounted aft of the cockpit, allowing it to be flown even without an experienced pilot (or any crew at all, for that matter) at the controls. This basic version carries only a single crewmember, and no payload other than itself, but the design is easily modifiable to carry passengers or cargo, or to serve as an impromptu fuel tanker with the addition of a docking port or two. Built with 48 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark1Cockpit.
