Description

A stock rocket called Donkey II. Built with 74 of the finest parts, its root part is probeCoreOcto2.v2.

Another entirely-solid-fuelled launcher for a relay probe; this one trades the Donkey I‘s heavy HECS2 probe core and large monopropellant tank for a much smaller OKTO2 (even with the external batteries and reaction wheels needed by the OKTO2 - which has paltry battery capacity and no internal reaction wheels at all - it’s still lighter than the HECS2) and a smaller tank with just 20 units of monopropellant rather than 120. The weight thus trimmed from the probe instead goes into two sepratron-powered kickmotor stages, which can either send the probe out of Kerbin’s gravity well entirely or place it into a high (if somewhat lopsided) Kerbin orbit.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.8.0.
