Description
Tiny satellite with solar power and seating for one?
Cheap simple low cost launcher to bring it to space?
Done and Done!
A stock rocket called ChairSat Sx. Built with 17 of the finest parts, its root part is sasModule.
The Thumper SRB used for the ChairSat Sx’s first stage (the S
stands for Solid
), although bigger, heavier, and less efficient than the ChairSat Lz1‘s liquid-fuelled Reliant and propellant tankage thereof, is so much cheaper that the Sx manages to come in costing 200 less funds than the Lz1 despite using the more-expensive-and-also-marginally-heavier orbital vehicle from the ChairSat Ly and ChairSat Lz (with its solar panels and antenna) and also having an extra tailfin compared to the Lz1, and provides much more Δv to boot!
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.11.1.
