Description

Ultra simple crewed spacecraft with just a pair of engines, a fuel tank, a single strut, and a command seat?

Simple dirt cheap launcher to bring it to orbit for under 1,700 Funds?

Done and Done!

A stock rocket called ChairSat S2c1. Built with 11 of the finest parts, its root part is externalTankRound.

Although a bit more expensive than the original ChairSat S2c, the S2c1’s two upper-stage Spider engines (in contrast to the S2c’s one) allow for roll control while the engines are burning, as well as pitch and yaw. The extra weight and mass necessitate that the lower-stage Hammer SRB be uprated slightly and the vehicle’s initial launch angle be made steeper, both to reduce gravity drag and to keep the vehicle from following a too-shallow flightpath and burning up in the atmosphere (as with the S2c and the earlier S2b, there is no mechanism for active flight control during first-stage flight, with the S2c1’s trajectory therein being determined solely by its thrust, weight, mass, aerodynamics, and initial attitude).

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.11.2.
