Description
Tiny satellite with solar power and seating for one?
Launcher to bring it to space?
Done and Done!
A (much) cheaper offshoot of the ChairSat Ly, the ChairSat Lz has half the first-stage fuel (and its tankage), but largely makes up for this by replacing the Ly’s moveable AV-R8 fins with the lighter (and less draggy, and cheaper) aluminium Basic fins (and offsetting those slightly into the rocket body to reduce drag even further) and its gimballed Swivel engine with the lighter and more-efficient (and more-powerful, and cheaper) Reliant, as the smaller craft has adequate flight control available from the upper-stage reaction wheel alone. It is, though, considerably more exacting when it comes to getting into a stable orbit - the upper stage needs to be ignited over a minute before apoapsis to give it enough time to accelerate to orbital speed without falling back into the atmosphere, and, even then, it needs to hold a fairly-nose-high pitch attitude (often as high as +45°) to keep from falling back down before it gets up to speed.
A stock rocket called ChairSat Lz. Built with 17 of the finest parts, its root part is sasModule.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.11.1.
