Description
Like the Buphagus Ia and Buphagus II, the Buphagus III is a powerful first stage composed of a bunch of Kickbacks welded together - in this case, nineteen of them. It also has a lot more parachutes, to lower all that extra weight to the ground safely; to help keep the parachutes from tearing the stage apart when they deploy, only four of the eight main parachute banks, plus the single drogue bank (totalling 24 of the 48 main parachutes on the stage, plus the six drogues) are armed at stage separation, with the other four banks (the remaining 24 main chutes) intended to be staged out after the chutes from the first four banks have already semideployed.
A stock subassembly called Buphagus III. Built with 138 of the finest parts, its root part is Decoupler.1.
