Description
A recreation of the cancelled Rocketplane XP suborbital spaceplane, intended to take tourists up on suborbital space hops and/or to launch small rockets onto orbital trajectories. It takes off and climbs to altitude using a set of four Juno turbojets (clipped into each other so as to look like only two), and then lights off its rocket engines (a central Spark, surrounded by four Cubs) to boost it up onto a suborbital trajectory. Be aware that reaching space is a bit hit and miss with the current design, so you might want to play around with adding more fuel tankage or trying to shave some mass off the vehicle.
To save on mass, it has no cockpit ladder, and is intended to be used in conjunction with a vehicle that can drive up to the exterior cockpit door and provide a platform for crew and passengers to use to emplane or deplane.
A stock aircraft called Blackdamp. Built with 57 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark1Cockpit.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.10.1.
