Description

EVEN MORE POWER!!!!!

Based on the Antilocapra III (and the II and I before it), the Antilocapra IV breaks the trend of increasing the number of engines with each Antilocapra iteration (its engine count is 11, the same as that of the Antilocapra III, as compared to the II’s nine engines and the I’s seven), instead concentrating on greater fuel capacity and improved controllability.

Differences compared to the Antilocapra III:

  • The stage has been stretched by inserting an S3-7200 fuel tank at its upper end.
  • A pair of large reaction-wheel modules have been inserted at the lower end of the 2.5-meter-diameter portion of the stage to provide improved flight control during coasting ascent (previous iterations were so heavy that they caused craft using them to handle and turn with the swiftness and grace of freight locomotives when not under the thrust of the gimballing Vectors) and reentry (allowing the stage to hold itself at a greater angle to the oncoming air, causing it to slow down more quickly and not experience as much heating in the process).
  • Parachutes and airbrakes have been added to the eight lower side-tank-engine-mount-assemblies, to improve the stage’s ability to float down on its side rather than vertically.

A stock subassembly called Antilocapra IV. Built with 116 of the finest parts, its root part is Decoupler.3.
