Description
A mod (FAR, works in stock) aircraft called Gabriel. Built with 54 of the finest parts, its root part is mk2Cockpit.Standard.
The Gabriel orbiter weighs 27.3 tons. It has a crew of 6 in the default configuration, and can be equipped for up to 14. Includes probe core, docking lights, airbrakes, landing parachutes (AG 3) extra solar panels (AG 2), and abort parachutes aligned with the center of mass. It is stable in subsonic and supersonic flight, with SAS activation recommended above 1000m/s.
Action group 1 toggles the engines from jet mode to rocket. Recommended switch-over is at 23km, 1.4km/sec, with 900 LF and 1100 Ox. After activating the rocket ascend to orbit as usual.
Landing speed is 130m/s. Below 160m/s, pitch authority will be weak. Do not exceed 10 m/s descent at these airspeeds (all testing was done with FAR).
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.4.
