Description
I wanted a reusable rocket in the 5-meter diameter to loft oversize payloads and larger subassemblies, while still retaining the price advantage of reusability. I also wanted to build something with a part count as small as I could manage, and have it look like a million bucks. This is the result.
As with anything in life, there are compromises. For instance the fairing that makes up the body of the Booster stage weighs more than fifteen tons, so there is a drastic reduction in performance to get the aesthetics I wanted.
Please note that while 60.5 tons is a reasonable payload to put into orbit in reusable mode, the fuel margins will be very tight. It is recommended to fly with payloads lighter than 40 tons in order to maximize fuel for maneuvering.
I also strongly recommend the Trajectories mod in order to pinpoint your landing spot.
Enjoy!
