This is the variant for those who use the Waterfall mod.

Description

This is a complete monster of a craft, inspired by SnacklessKerbal’s beautiful Ranger lander and Lockheed Martin’s MADV concept.

I had so much fun building this and carefully tweaking and shaping the design. Due to design limitations, the Defiance isn’t capable of return landings on Kerbin, but it can be used for many other celestial bodies if you have the dV budget to tow it there.

Usage Instructions

The SK-120 Olympus rocket that the Defiance launches atop can only just barely put this beast into orbit.
A second launch is required to bring up a transfer stage of some sort. I recommend my LX-2 Tug for this job. The LX-2 will give the combined system enough dV for a transfer to Duna (around 1,200 m/s).

I recommend launching the Defiance unmanned, and then docking with it once it’s in Duna orbit via some other craft, but it can be used for direct transfer if you so desire.

Notes

-The Defiance includes a 24-slot cargo container to transport science equipment, spare parts, or whatever else you may want to bring.

-Once in orbit, the Defiance can be used as a Mun transfer-and-landing vehicle without the need for a tug stage.

-The Defiance cannot perform the backflip maneuver in Kerbin’s thick atmosphere.

-A 3-man capsule in the nose can be accessed by right-clicking through the fairing during flight. Added to the two cockpits up top and the 2-person airlock made from a lander can, and you arrive at a capacity of 7 crew.

The Defiance Multi-Ascent/Descent Vehicle is designed to land up to seven Kerbonauts on Duna and safely return them to orbit. Also approved for use on the Mun and Minmus.
