The Tupolev Tu-95 is a turboprop long-range bomber made during the 1960s through the 1980s. The
Bear was known to be a scary threat to the West, due to its 575 mph top speed and 9,400 mile range. This particular version is the MSK, the Kerbinian version of the Tu-95MS, the cruise-missile carrier version. Developed in the late 1980s for the fledgling SFK (Socialist Federation of Kerbania), Tupolev OKB had to make significant changes to the plane, such as replacing the Kuznetsov NK-12 turboprops with new Kerboshov D27 Propfans, although much less powerful, but more reliable and fuel efficient. There are also new avionics and new landing gear installed to fit the flying style of the Kerbals.
This is version 1.1, with the Goose cockpit from the SXT-24 pack.
Pilot’s note: The aircraft has a tendency to go right during takeoff and flight, so either use SAS or apply left rudder if necessary. The takeoff speed without flaps is around 60 m/s, and since the wings are angled, the plane initially lifts up parallel to the ground. The plane will pitch up shortly after. Finally, don’t try to pull crazy manoeuvres, as the wings get stressed easily and will snap like a pencil. Fly responsibly and have fun!
A mod aircraft called Tupolev Tu-95MSK Bear. Built with 89 of the finest parts, its root part is SXTGoose.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.1.3.
