An improvement on the Nova II, Nova IIB returns to the classic asparagus form by eliminating the upper stage.
Using the entire core stage for orbital insertion presents a huge challenge for stage recovery. Tail sitter landing used for smaller upper stages is entirely unworkable for a giant thirty meter tall rocket so a belly landing system was developed. Powerful bipropellant RCS gives the Nova IIB core enough agility for precise coasting and AP burn.
Recommended ascent flight path:
Start gravity turn by turning to East 5 degrees once you reach 800m, then follow prograde
Discard fairing at 40,000m
Core stage has fairly low TWR, you might need to increase pitch to above prograde marker to keep time to AP 20-40 seconds in front of you
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.0.5.
