Description
A stock rocket called Ares V. Built with 140 of the finest parts, its root part is Size3SmallTank.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.12.3.
About the build
This Ares V is one of my largest creations. Due to this size, its TWR is quite low and having a payload capacity of only around 81 tons, however that should be more than enough payload capacity for most use cases. This craft has some new techniques never before used on my other creations uploaded to KerbalX, most notably the custom insulation foam on the main fuel tanks. Other items of note are the custom 5 segment SRBs as well as the custom J-2X on the second stage so you can deliver heavy payloads and look cool while doing so.
Due to previously mentioned poor TWR, after booster separation the TWR may drop to 0.99 for a few seconds before going back above 1. Start the gravity turn at about 120m/s by tilting 10 degrees and setting SAS to prograde.
