Description

The Fh.226, designed and built by Falkhausen Flugzeugwerk in the Ostkerlin district of Kermany, and during the LXth Kerbin Air Show in Nuevokerbinia, Kerbinia (some three weeks from the opening of the rift above Kerbina which would mark the start of the first Kerbo-Kraken War) it appeared as the flagship fighter desgin of Falkhausen Flugzeugwerk and instantly put the name ‘Falkhausen’ first when it came to the future of aviation. The design was a revolutionary concept, something Dr. Karlton Falkhausen would call a ‘flying wing’ design. Within a matter of days the news spread of the marvelous plane, a mix of maneuvarbility, speed, range and survivablity, without compromising any of those metrics.

Around this time the best the KAF had were some propeller biplanes made for naval patrol and but one prototpe jet fighter, an early form of the Dr 1001, so when the Fh.226 was made public the KAF were very interested.

This would soon become relevant as some three weeks after the opening of the Kerbin Air Show, the Krakenese ‘antipion discombobulator’ (which was short for portal) tore a hole in the skies above Nuevokerbinia and the swarms of Krakenese Locust-class interceptors grounded all air traffic willingly or otherwise. Dr. Falkhausen would in a daring act of bravery overloaded the Fh.226 with Prime Minister John C. Kerbin and his family and flew them, ducking and weaving, over to the border between Kerbinia and Kermany.

This daring, and impressive feat personally enamoured the plane to the PM and he placed an order of 200 to be delivered as soon as kermanly possible in order to aid the fight against the obviously hostile Krakenese ships. Falkhausen Flugzeugwerk delivered the 200 by the next week, and for the first time since the beggining of the attack on Kerbinia, Kerbals no longer hid in their houses while flak guns pounded the air with kilograms of hopeless defense. They stood outside as watched as KAF aircrews fought several crucial sorties with the Locust-class interceptors and cemented Kerbinian aerial supremacy in the region. This gave John C. Kerbin the breathing room necessary to broker a temporary peace with the Krakenese and end the war… for now.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.4.5.
