Description

Science Data and Sample Delivery known as the Firebat Taxi.

Originally known as Project X-125A, the unnamed Launch Vehicle utilizes 8 SpaceY S121 Heavy Lift SRBs with a SpaceY S217 Super Heavy Lift SRB in the middle making a total of 9 SpaceY Heavy Lift SRB Class engines for the 1st stage of the vehicle.

The 9 Solid Rockets are strapped together as a single unit, once the 8 boosters have used up their fuel, DON’T TRY TO SEPARATE, the single engine in the middle will continue until burn out, once this booster runs out of fuel, only then you can jettison the 1st stage.

The 2nd stage features a unique 14 engine setup, the core contains 3 LV-TX87 Bobcat Liquid Fuel Engine, with 8 RT-10 Hammer Solid Fuel Booster engines surrounding the core, These Hammer SRBs’ are the Boosters for the 2nd stage so it can reach its target orbit around the Kerbal Homeworld, these 8 WILL be able to be dropped off after burnout since they’ll no longer be required.

Known Stats

The 1st stage is known to reach 300+ m/s within 15 to 20 seconds after ignition, and nearly 600+ m/s in about 29 seconds of liftoff. Nominal orbit that launcher can handle with MechJeb is recommended 120 to 150 km orbit.

The Firebat vehicle itself was constructed for the use of transferring data to space stations in orbit from other science gathering probes, ships ect. Therefore the ship has 2 types of Docking Ports, The Clamptron Jr. on the top and the Inline Clamptron just beneath the Kerbalmax RGB-003 Intercedor Station Core.

This Ship or Data and Material Taxi was designed to be cheap easy to use and with the user having the KERBALISM mod installed onto their game.

Once you’re done with it transporting whatever data you wish to transport, just send it to a destructive re-entry on the nearest celestial body.
