Description

The FTX-04 is the most recent entry for the USN’s carrier-borne interceptor aircraft competition that began in June of 2076. Although forward swept wings have been experimented with throughout the late twentieth and twenty first centuries, none have gone into service, this will be a departure from that trend, as the FTX-04 has been selected as the winner of the competition. Just over 400 airframes have been ordered, and they will be entering operational service in August of 2077. The FTX-04 can also be equipped with ramjets to intercept Mach 3+ aircraft, see performance statistics for the two different engine types.
