Description

After the success of the FTX-01 Xydias, Uncle Sam requested a successor. We here at Lunar Enterprises were happy to oblige, and we came out with this beauty. Going away from the closed wing design, we decided to utilize this dragon-like wing setup.
She officially rolled out of the factory as prototype FTXX-03 in February of 2086, her maiden flight took place on a cold winter day in October of that year and 5 more protoypes were ordered. Following the conclusion of flight testing an order for 1050 of the aircraft was placed with the first delivery set for May of 2088.

The first aircraft was delivered and became operational in April of 2088, one month ahead of schedule. She was an instant hit with both pilots and air crews alike. While the closed wing design required lots of heavy maintenance, her canted H-vertical stabilizers provided easy access to the flight systems. She was lovingly nicknamed The Wyrm owing to her dragonlike appearance, and -much like the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the A-10 Thunderbolt II- her nickname was so popular that it became the unofficial designation for the aircraft. She is set to be the mainstay air-superiority fighter for the USAF until 2100, and many years later. Hope you guys enjoy!
