Do you want to go fast? Like escape velocity fast? Without leaving the ground? Well, I have the perfect craft for you!

Introducing the Polar Cataclysm, the bleeding edge of stock landspeeder technology. With a top speed of almost mach 10, this beast is sure to give you the rush you truly desire. Just be sure to enjoy the ride; it can only be used once!

How to use:
Follow these steps VERY carefully. This vehicle is very fickle and prone to random disassembly.

1: On the main menu, go into settings and change the Terrain Detail from
High to Normal.

2: Fly (or hyperedit) to EXACTLY 80N, 40W
3: Orient to a heading to 120 degrees
4: Timewarp until early morning (when the sun just pokes above the horizon)

(Or, skip steps 2-4 by downloading this quicksave: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5z8jzjbvk0vytzu/quicksave.sfs?dl=0)

5: Engage SAS, set throttle to max, and stage. Once the craft hits 100 m/s, set SAS to prograde.
6: Once the top fuel tank runs dry, stage to ditch it. Turn SAS OFF.
7: Once the rocket stage ends, stage again. Prepare thyself for up to 50 gs of acceleration.
8: IMMEDIATELY after the desired speed is obtained, press AG 1 to engage the air-brakes.
9: Once the craft has slowed down below Mach 1, right click on the wheels and slowly increase their friction control until the craft has come to a stop.
10: If you’ve made it this far, congratulations! You’ve just set a landspeed record! Plant a flag and relish in the glory!

11: If the craft fails between steps 5-9, quickload and try again. It took me 15 attempts to record a successful run due to how erratic the terrain colliders can be, and how randomly the fairings explode. Keep at it for at least 10 attempts. If you are still having issues, contact me and we’ll work out a solution.
