Context
Recently, NASA has awarded contracts to three major space corporations to construct and fly craft that can land on the lunar surface. One of these corporations that was chosen was SpaceX who are currently designing a lunar lander variant of Starship which will hopefully land on the Moon by 2024 as part of NASA’s Artemis Project.

This craft can either be flown fully reusable (by recovering the Super Heavy booster) or flown by expending the booster. Please note that you can perform a normal ascent with the expendable version and will not require sending another tanker to refuel Starship in orbit
Landing engines make the final descent easier to control
Flight Profile (Recovering the Booster)
- Retract all launch arms with AG 7+8
- SAS Radial Out and stage as normal to liftoff
- Keep SAS Radial Out until Apoapsis is 100km, then cut the booster engines
- Separate Starship from SH and immediately SAS Radial in (Orbital) and start burning (Starship)
- Make sure your Apoapsis stays at 80-90km and keep time to Apoapsis low, this means that you should reach orbit quick enough to switch back to SH just after it passes apoapsis
- Once Starship has made orbit, switch back to SH and engage brakes (grid fins), RCS and point Retrograde (Surface)
- Do a suicide burn (Mechjeb / KER recommended. Mechjeb Autoland also works)
- The SH booster should land on the grasslands just west of the KSC
- Repeat this for 2/3 more launches and rendezvous these craft with the main ship to refuel it fully for a trip to the Mun
- Once on the Mun, you can use ISRU to refuel (not real life but makes things easier) by using AG2 and AG3
