After visiting the Technikmuseum Speyer again, I had to build another Buran. My Simple Space Shuttle was received quite well here, so i thought about taking the same approach with the Buran. Making it simple an easy to fly shall be the top priority and everything else shall be sacrificed.

This worked well for the Orbiter. It has a low part count, flies very good under all circumstances and is easy to manage in space too. I actually got the RCS setup right. So it doesn’t sling around during docking manouvers, a malfunction i often noticed in (my) shuttles.
The Energia was built in a bit more detail, because it still handled as expected. It is the most stable shuttle/buran lifter setup i’ve ever built. It was tough to get this to unbalance - even with my rowdy launch style. I put the booster seperation in two different stages - for safety reasons. Make sure your minimum payload is 25 tones. Everything above that is fine (as long as it fits in the service bay i guess).
