Description
The F-35 is America’s latest and most advanced jet fighter, a 5th generation stealth multirole fighter with VTOL capabilities in certain variants, allowing it to be deployed from almost anywhere.
My recreation is of the ‘A’ variant, which doesn’t have VTOL capability (which made my life easier). The handling is admittedly poor, and the cargo bays for the missiles are non-functional, so this is more of an aesthetic build really. The top speed is ~750 m/s WITHOUT afterburner. If you want to attach some missiles onto this plane, I recommend using what Lockheed Martin call the Beast Mode, where missiles are carried externally - any missiles put into the payload bay collide with the payload bay ends, and cause some explosions.
The more observant of you may have noticed that I have downloaded some mods recently, mostly visual mods, but I’ve also downloaded BD armory (which is proving to be extremely fun!). If you want some stock + BD armory planes, do please tell me in the comments.
A stock aircraft called F-35 Lighting II. Built with 76 of the finest parts, its root part is probeStackSmall.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.12.5.
