Description

The F-15 Eagle is an iconic fighter jet, with over 100 wins and no losses in combat. This is a replica of the experimental F-15 ACTIVE (Advanced Control Technology for Integrated Vehicles), which was developed by NASA to test thrust vectoring and enhanced manoeuvrability. This plane is distinct from normal F-15s by it’s front canards, as well as the 2D thrust vectoring nozzles. Although it was only ever an experimental plane, this craft is battle ready and equipped with flares and guns, as well as an ejection seat. This plane is pretty good too, able to pull hard Gs consistently, and has a very short takeoff run (Due to the number of wing parts on this craft, you can take off at 35 m/s, and at max acceleration that is a very short distance, perfect for aircraft carriers). Adding equipment tended to decrease the manoeuvrability, so I’ve simply added hardpoints for you to attach stuff onto. Travelling at a slower speed also helps, so it is advised that you do not use full throttle when doing manoeuvres. Interestingly, the afterburners slow down the plane compared to normal mode, as overclocking panther engines doesn’t mean that you overclock the afterburner mode. So if you press 2, you get given a short burst of speed, but then the speed starts to drop.

Left - the F-15I Strike Eagle - a variant of the Eagle. As this is a long range strike eagle, the fuselage has attached to it some conformal fuel tanks, which are not on this replica.
