Description

After my long hiatus from playing KSP, I decided to start simple and make a really fast jet. Powered by a single whiplash, this craft can reach speeds of +1300 m/s, and has a cool (well in my opinion) variable geometry wing, which you can see in the pictures below. This craft can also be used as a missile (if a little costly). Wingtips are a tad bendy, due to their attachment to the hinges, but otherwise this is a pretty nice craft.

This craft requires the entire KSC runway to take off, so may not be practical for shorter runways.

The folding wingtips were inspired by the XB-70 Valkyrie, which utilised these folding wingtips to generate compression lift. I just liked the look and incorporated it into this build.

A stock aircraft called Delta Experimental Jet. Built with 36 of the finest parts, its root part is radialEngineBody.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.12.5.
