Description

The Gemini capsule and Titan II GLV booster complete wtih equipment and retrograde sections. LR-87 engine bewoop not included.

A stock rocket called Gemini Titan II. Built with 50 of the finest parts, its root part is Mk2Pod.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.4.1.

Originally envisioned as Mercury mk-2, the Gemini program grew into its own as a stepping stone between the Mercury and Apollo programs, pioneering many of the techniques and skills that would be relevant for decades to come (long duration flights, orbital rendezvous, docking, extravehicular activity, aerodynamically guided reentry, to name a few of the highlights). For far more detail than you ever bothered asking for on the fascinating topic of the Gemini program, I direct you here: https://history.nasa.gov/SP-4203/toc.htm
Since the structural tubes do not aerodynamically occlude their contents, everything inside the equipment segment is exposed to the aero, making the nose a little drag heavy, so be careful how far you deviate from the prograde vector during ascent. Be wary that the pad TWR is a tad low, adjust your gravity turn accordingly. Also, all reaction wheels on this vehicle have been disabled, you will be flying on engine gimbal and RCS alone. For normal Gemini this wouldn’t be a problem, but given Kerbin’s scale and the frequency with which it is required to coast to AP, plus the fact that the stock LR-91 lacks an actuating turbopump exhaust pipe to act as a roll vernier, you may need to rely on the capsule RCS after MECO to maintain full attitude control. The 0 key will toggle the reentry RCS, which may be needed for pitch and yaw authority while coasting without the second stage engine firing, due to the proximity of the center of mass, with the lower stage attached, to the primary attitude control thrusters on the back end of the equipment segment. The retro package will impart roughly 74 m/s change in velocity (plus or minus about a meter and a half per second depending on how much RCS fuel is remaining) when fired, for reference when plotting return trajectories.

Warenty void in cases of stuck thrusters, space smugglers, or defective agena target vehicles.
