VTOL dropship. Karborundum Fusion Drives for vacuum propulsion and lift fans for atmospheres.

READ THIS - IMPORTANT:

• The lift fans run on ElectricCharge and require a ModuleManager patch that wasn’t included in the latest release of Mk2X for some reason. Since you need the latest version of Mk2X for this, you’ll have to grab the patch from the older 1.8.01 version. Copy the Mk2X_ElectricBanshee.cfg file from the older version’s Patches folder to the corresponding folder in the new version. This will convert the lift fans from LiquidFuel and Oxidizer to ElectricCharge (the LFO ones will still work in non-oxygen atmospheres, but the ship doesn’t carry any LFO).

• Because of a bug in Mk2 Expansion (lift fans producing the same thrust on Eve as on Kerbin despite the atmosphere being 5 times denser), it might not be able to land on Eve (requires 1.7 times the thrust compared to Kerbin) without a custom MM patch to fix the problem. I’ve brought this to SuicidalInsanity’s (Mk2X dev) attention and he should have an official fix out soonish.

• I have not tested this without Throttle Controlled Avionics. It might fly fine, or it might not. I’d recommend getting TCA just to be sure.

• The lift fan bay doors MUST be open when operating the VTOL rockets or they’ll overheat and explode within seconds!
