Description

Next is the Space Launch System Block 2 with the Pyrios LFBs or as i call it, the 2A. The 2A is the main core stage with the Exploration Upper Stage and liquid fueled boosters called Pyrios, Although Pyrios wasn’t designed by NASA, it was the highest profile advanced boost proposal from the 2015 competition designed to support the 1A before it’s cancellation. The Pyrios was based off of the Ares 1 upper stage and used two F-1B engines, modernized versions of the engines used on the Saturn V. With these boosters, the payload would exceed 150 tons to LEO which was considered too powerful for NASA’s needs, it was also 20 tons over the 130 ton target for the Block 2. Plus the boosters would have been very expensive to design and manufacture. This led to NASA turning down Pyrios and any other LFB proposals in favor of advanced SRBs.

I also included a nuclear propulsion stage like the ones NASA designed for Constellation. I could not think of another payload so maybe you could somehow put it to use.

Just like my Super Detailed Saturn V, this vehicle is as accurate as possible but detailed is used very loosely since a lot of information is missing since it wasn’t perused by NASA.
