Update 12022.5.21: Updated to KSP 1.12.3, Improved Booster reusability and asthetics
This Low Kerbin Orbit version is fully reusable as the booster can parachute to the surface and be refurbished.
Procedures
To Orbit: Take off and tilt to 85° pitch when reaching 50 m/s vertical, set to prograde and allow it gravity turn naturally. Turn off engine once projected apogee exceeds 80 km, cruise and circularize orbit at 80 km, the booster will run empty for first 300~500 m/s of circularization, stage it and continue on via orbiter engine, should have 500~300 m/s of delta-v left in orbiter once in orbit. Switch to the spent booster and follow it back to the surface where it should land automatically undamaged, refurbish it.
Re-entry: Hit atmosphere in orbital radial out orientation with bottom surface towards prograde, slows like a capsule, once below 1000 m/s you can fly about like a plane by pointing it in prograde orientation.
Landing on Runway: Extend landing gear. Lock brakes. Land at velocities below 70:5 (horizontal:vertical) m/s. Have 0° ± 5° pitch (be as horizontal as possible) when the gear hit the runway so as to prevent bouncing and flopping over or side skiding.
Landing on Land: Extend landing gear. Lock brakes. Or use parachutes, landing gear and RCS thrusters to slow down before hitting the surface.
Landing at Sea: hit water at velocities below 70:5 (horizontal:vertical) m/s, with pitch of 0°± 5°. Or use parachutes and pitch down with RCS to hit the water with the nose and not the tail to prevent engine damage.
A stock rocket called Kream Katcher 8.2 Orbiter. Built with 60 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark2Cockpit. Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.12.3.
