Description

Lands great if you follow protocol

Useful in practicing precision vertical landings.

Landing Protocol:

1. Swop down over the landing site with afterburners off and brakes on and fly straight up at >2/3 power.
2. Switch to landing mode (Gear) when speed goes below 10 m/s up. Keep pointed up with SAS or SAS retrograde as you fall backward toward the landing sight at 10~20 m/s.
3. Raise engine power and use burst of afterburner (custom #5) to keep fall rate below 20 m/s. Use RCS to pin point landing spot (translate L/R & F/B)
4. For the last 10~50 m altitude fall at <6 m/s.
5. Upon touchdown or last meter above the surface shutoff the engine (abort)
