An external tank for the Viking-Class DTV, used to extend its delta-V capabilities to carry out a fast Duna mission that returns from Duna to Kerbin on a shorter trajectory, at the cost of fuel. It is jettisoned around Duna orbit, after the payload behind it is removed. May also be used for heavy payloads on optimal Hohmann transfers.

To transport it to the station, the tank is connected to a modified LACROSS (Lightweight Adaptable Cargo and Resource Supply Ship) resupply tug, and the combination is launched on a Nemesis 5 rocket. If the tank is empty, the first stage could be recovered Falcon-style; if it is filled, it must be expended for the payload to reach orbit. The LACROSS is ejected after docking to eliminate unnecessary mass.

Cannot be used alone. Recommended to be docked with the associated craft.
