The Plane

The Antonov A-2 (the glider, not the AN-2, the famous piston aircraft) was a double-seat glider. It was designed by Oleg Antonov and made its first flight in 1936. During the 1930s and 1940s Around 2.300 of these aircraft were built. Together with its brother, the A-1 it was used for training purposes. Its design was derived from the A-1, keeping must of its structural elements, but changing the wing and the cockpit to better suit the pilot and the instructor.

My Interpretation of the Design

Just like with the A-1`s design im overall pretty happy. It still glides like a stone and the cockpit still looks strange. It really is just a little bigger A-1. This aircraft this aircraft is now a part of my Antonov glider series (more craft will follow!).
