The Plane

The Antonov A-1 was a single-seat glider. It was designed by Oleg Antonov and made its first flight in 1930. During the 1930s and 1940s Around 5.700 of these aircraft were built. Together with its brother, the A-2 (not the famous AN-2, the piston aircraft) it was used for training purposes.

My Interpretation of the Design

The design i made is nowhere near perfect. It weighs way to much and glides like a stone. It has a really unorthodox way of getting into the air, but that rocket was the best thing i could find. The cockpit looks strange as well, but i think i did ok on that front. While i was building this i had a lot of fun just launching it and gliding around the space center. This will also be the start of a mini series of me replicating most of the Antonov gliders (i have not replicated the flying tank and as i have seen there is a very good replica of it uploaded already).

Have fun flying this!
