Description

A mod aircraft called Kittyhawk III. Built with 67 of the finest parts, its root part is SXTke111.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.5.

A Heavy Attacker/ Medium Bomber for you Army Airforce needs! (Void Warranty if taken off from or landing on a sea-based vessel.)

This plane is called the Kittyhawk to throw off spies from taking interest into this project (Like Nazi-Germany did with the Maus Tank), but despite it’s cute and morally downgrading name, it is infact a very capable aircraft best used in hit-and-run ground attack roles, because of it’s very high speed!

Everything YOU need to know about this stunning Aeroflight-Capable Vehicle:

General characteristics:

Crew: 4

Length: 14.3 m

Wingspan: 16.3 m

Height: 5.5 m

Empty weight: 10 373 kg

Loaded weight: 17 173 kg

Powerplant: 2x D-25 Radial Engines, VERY IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE TO INCREASE THE MAX THRUST VALUE IN THE .cfg

FILE TO 160, OTHERWISE IT HAS TOO LITTLE THRUST.

Performance:

Maximum speed: 161m/s /// 579.6 km/h

Horizontal turn time, @500m, @Full Throttle, w/o Flaps deployed: 46s

Endurance: 23m 9s

TWR: 1.37

Armament:

2x 2x.50cal Turret (It is recommended to significantly turn down the bullet weight of the .50cal turret, otherwise it just one-shots every aircraft that tails it, and we want some form of realism!)

1xDorsal Firing backwards.

1xVentral Firing backwards.
Ammo: 1200 for both turrets.

2x1000lb Bombs, under inner wings.

4x500lb Bombs, in the bomb-bay.

Pros:

-Very fast in KSP prop-driven-aircraft standards.

-Great armament, 1 1000lb bomb can destroy the VAB and 3-4 500lb bombs can destroy it too.

-IMO very good, and sleek looking aircraft.

-Very fast acceleration.

Cons:

-I had to make the flaps extend upwards instead of downwards, because otherwise they would decrease speed and
maneuverability, and the point of flaps is to increase maneuverability.

-Not very maneuverable, but hey, what do you expect from a bomber?

-No forward facing armament.
