Overview

The Ibis is a twin-engine asymmetric craft designed for high-speed cruise and high-speed aerobatics. The wings are slightly oblique: fore on the starboard side, aft on port. The flaps are different sizes and deploy different amounts. Despite its highly asymmetric nature, the minimal trim that is required throughout the flight envelope can easily be handled by SAS.

Performance

This craft likes to cruise in straight and level flight, where it’ll hit 200m/s with no trouble. There may be more performance to squeeze out of it by adding a high and low pitch setting on the props, which you can do if you find the low-speed acceleration sluggish or the top speed limiting.

Sustained 5G pulls at around 140m/s are no big deal, and it can reach 10Gs from a pull at top speed.

Takeoff and land at 50m/s (Action Group 1 for Flaps). Action Group 2 toggles the higher prop pitch. Stall speed is ~40m/s.
