Overview
The Catbird is a small aerobatic propfan passenger plane. It comes stock with a small fuel load for maximum aerobatic performance and fun factor, but has plenty of spare internal tanks to increase range if desired. Maximum speed in level flight is 190 m/s. Approach at 55 m/s and land at 40 to 35.
Deploy the slotted fowler flaps with AG1 (also toggles approach lights), spoilers with AG2. Toggle blade pitch with AG3 after hitting 120 m/s on the fine pitch setting. AG4 toggles four lights: two over-wing, two shining on the underside of the tail, for display purposes. The lights action group enables wingtip navigation and strobe lights, as well as several strobe lights on the fuselage.
Performance
Despite being a commercial craft, the Catbird has a surprising amount of performance! It can sustain a 5G level turn and perform a good amount of basic aerobatic maneuvers: loops, rolls, and more are attainable with ease.
Notes
The main gear hinges are autostrutted and may get locked up or down. If they do so, toggle the autostrut options through to Heaviest Part
- they should move freely after this. If not, disable autostrut.
