Description

A stock rocket called KO-1XA. Built with 138 of the finest parts, its root part is mk2Cockpit.Standard.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 0.25.0.

This is Kebal Orbiter - 1XA. It is touchy off the launch pad but settles down quickly. I recommend two ticks under full throttle at first stage, let burn until craft stabilizes on pad, then stage the SRBs. The entire assembly will push west, but don’t over compensate too fast. Tap toward 90 degrees at about 200m and bring velocity vector as vertical as you can keep it if not slightly toward the 90 degree heading. At about 7km pull to 60 degrees off vertical toward the 90 degree heading. The craft will wobble a bit after SRB separation which will occur between 6.5km and 7km. The craft will nearly stall at this point if you remain too vertical. You should monitor the bottom orange tank fuel level from launch through its separation. At main tank separation toggle off the main engines and use orbitals to circularize. This is a challenge to fly, but reaches orbit consistently with practice. It has enough deltaV to reach 100km, perform limited orbital maneuvers, and return to KSC on a dead stick.

This build comes with a small ion powered probe as payload.

Enjoy!
