Super Hornet
I wish I had a story to tell, but alas, I couldn’t think of a write-up specific enough for this plane. Alas, couldn’t find much. However, there is one notable use of this specific plane;
“All right, that’s the last one! Who wants to be the first to fly above the clouds?”
“Woo!”
“No way in hell!”
The Waiapolo Mountains were shrouded by low hanging clouds, their appearance mimicking that of an ocean. Only snow-capped peaks of the Waiapolo Mountain range managed to tower above the suffocating layer of clouds. And suffocating it was. For below the cloud layer, a special squadron were conducting a critical mission. Above, far, far above, and Anti-Air satellite stalks our squadron.
Peaking above the clouds, and scurrying back down just as fast, Spare Squadron, 444th, a penal unit, one-by-one, destroyed the radar sites, which allowed the Anti-Air satellite to maintain its watchful gaze. Mission complete. A lone aircraft, with three strikes on it’s tail-plane, rose above the clouds.
What a dumbass
Three Strikes has appeared above the clouds! What is he, a daredevil?
Enough yapping already, we currently have a squadron of Hornets heading our way
Support has come? Why would they want to protect a penal squadron?
Sure enough, dead ahead, a squadron of OADF fighters were approaching head on towards Spare Squadron.
Fighters not responding to hails! What is it with these?
Maybe, it’s because we are a penal squ-
Count was interrupted by the scream of Full Band on the comms.
Hey, Count! Missile alert! Break! Break! Break!
Count was pushed squarely into his ejection seat, as he turned hard to evade the incoming missiles.
Deploying chaff and flares!
Count barely managed to utter on the radio. From Bandog’s radar, Spare Squadron had broken off like flies, whizzing in many directions. Those ‘friendly’ Hornets fired their missiles at Spare Squadron.
Spare 11 - Tabloid managed to radio
Everyone, form up on me- no, Trigger
Heh, stick with Trigger, and you’ll make it
One by one, Spare Squadron formed up on Trigger. A special pilot for a special squadron.
This is the Spare Squadron - I decide when and where you die. Engage the fighters!
Quickly reidentifying the fighters as Bandits, Spare Squadron began to turn in to engage.
Full Band, where are you in the formation?
Bandog asked
The tail end
replied Full Band
Heh
muttered Bandog
The missile approached quickly to it’s target, an F-18 of a supposedly friendly F/A-18F Super Hornet. The enemy squadron was now mostly wiped out. There still was one bandit left on the radar.
Count, one to go
One to go! I got it
Turning sharply to meet Count’s target, his jet met the tail end of the bandit.
Fox 2!
Count radioed
The bandit went up in flames
Damnit! Why does this happen to-
Full Band - Spare 6, was shot down
Full Band is down!
Wha- Friendly fire?
…
Full Band got tagged as an enemy
Count radioed. His once cheery voice, now filled with remorse and guilt.
…
You did that on purpose Bandog
Count accused. His voice, still a contrast from the normally cheerful tone.
Did what?
Bandog replied
Don’t play dumb!
Count retorted
It was an accident, things got out of control
Bandog confessed.
There was a deathly silence on the radio intercomms. Badnog sighed.

The controls are simple; 1 raises and lowers the flaps. 2 activates the ‘tail hook’. The ‘Brake" action group also controls the airbrake. RCS will toggle the afterburner. WASD and QE as usual control the Pitch Roll and Yaw of the plane. You should probably know that allready.
