Description
Inspired by Voyager ½. Few spacecraft have been as integral to planetary exploration, or yielded as many discoveries as Voyager 1 and 2. Each launched in 1977 aboard a Titan III-E. Both spacecraft visited Jupiter and Saturn, but Voyager 2 took advantage of a very rare planetary alignment and also flew by Uranus and Neptune; remaining the only probe to have ever visited those planets. Voyager 1 also took images and measurements of Saturn’s moon, Titan, and took the famous Pale Blue Dot
photo of Earth in 1990. The Voyager science payload was substantial, including a magnetometer, plasma-wave instruments, and cameras ranging from Infrared to Ultraviolet. Both spacecraft are speeding away from Earth, and Voyager 1 has already left the Solar System. Amazingly. contact with both spacecraft continues as of 2016 and they continue to return basic data of density and temperature of interstellar plasma. Most science instruments have been turned off to conserve power, but Voyager 1 is expected to stay in contact until 2025.
A mod rocket called CA-Torekka. Built with 27 of the finest parts, its root part is torekka.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.12.5.
