Description

I made a B-52G and H a long time ago, that I never uploaded, which is why it doesn’t look that good. Yesterday, a friend of mine requested I make the B-52 Mothership that carried the X-15. So here it is, Balls 8 in all its glory.

Important handling notes below!

V-Speeds

Vr-40m/s
VTD-50m/s

Operation Manual

Flaps
Do not extend. It will either get caught up in the restraining plates or break off its hinge. Not like the B-52’s takeoff speed is high, after all.

Controllability Issues
True to the B-52B, this replica has control surfaces that are ‘smaller than average’. Not only that, roll is controlled by 6 pathetic spoilerons and 1 inboard aileron. Thankfully, with the magic of Reaction Wheels™, it’s not an issue. If you do face trouble with controls, tough luck buddy.

Water Injection
Toggle with AG1. Doesn’t actually increase engine thrust, but does look cool. Also pollutes the environment with its patented Black Smoke.

X-15
The decoupler for the X-15 is hidden inside the fuselage, because attaching it to the wing will 100% nuke the plane.
Climb to your altitude of choice, then deploy it from the B-52.

The X-15 is very inaccurate performance-wise, having practically infinite fuel. Feel free to change this just by touching the engines.

The X-15 also has no moving control surfaces, because BG hinges will destroy themselves at Mach 6. It also has no RCS system, because I forgot. My bad.

Decals
My first rodeo into the wild world of flags. Find them all here, and more! Made by the talented Mendrin.

Made for GRUK’s ‘50s challenge thing, apparently.
